Free stopgaps for November 2

If you need something running the day after the beta closes while you trial a paid scribe:

A free plan's cap matters more than its price. Count last month's consults and check them against the monthly limit before you rely on one for the whole team.

How to pick a replacement this week

  1. Watch the note land in ezyVet. Ask for a demo of the export step on a real consult: does it fill the right fields, or drop one block of text you re-sort?
  2. Price it for your whole team. Check whether the plan charges per vet or per user, whether techs and front desk need seats, and whether there's a monthly record cap.
  3. Ask about integration fees. Some scribes charge per clinic or per server for the PMS connection on top of the seat price.
  4. Check trial terms. They differ by vendor, from a free plan to a time-limited trial to a money-back guarantee; the table above shows each one with its source.
  5. Sort out client consent and storage. Decide how you'll tell clients a visit is recorded, and ask each vendor where recordings are stored and for how long.
  6. Run two on the same appointments. Trial your top two side by side for a few days and let the vets who write the most notes choose.
