How to compare them
- Count last month's radiograph studies. Flat fees suit high volume; per-study prices suit low volume.
- Ask what happens when the AI isn't sure: who reviews it, how fast, and whether it costs extra.
- Check it works with your X-ray system and whether reports reach your PMS or AI scribe.
- Read the vendor's published accuracy figures per finding, not one overall number.

How much does veterinary AI radiology cost?
Is a subscription or per-study price cheaper?
It depends on volume. At the published prices, $200 a month equals about 3 to 7 SignalPET studies at $30 to $60 each. A clinic sending more than that each month pays less per study on a flat plan; a clinic sending only a few a month pays less in total on per-study pricing. Check what each price includes before comparing.
Can AI replace a radiologist?
No vendor here says so, and each offers a radiologist backup. A 2026 pilot study in JAVMA tested six AI platforms on abdominal radiographs of 53 dogs and found frequent missed diagnoses, concluding they weren't ready to use alone. Read the summary.
